The Philosophy Behind the Practice

Pain medicine has a problem. For too long, the standard of care has meant prescriptions refilled month after month — treating symptoms rather than root causes, and leaving patients dependent on medications that were never meant to be permanent solutions.
Dr. Luis Chabla founded Chabla Pain & Performance on a different premise: that the body,
when given the right tools, has a remarkable ability to heal itself. That regenerative, evidence-based medicine — not chronic pharmaceutical management — is the future
of pain care. And that patients deserve more than symptom suppression. Every therapy offered at Chabla Pain & Performance is evidence-based and FDA approved.

Meet Dr. Luis Chabla, MD

Board-Certified Anesthesiologist & Pain Medicine Physician

Dr. Chabla brings nine years of clinical expertise to every patient encounter — along with an academic foundation few private practitioners can match.

He completed his undergraduate education at Tulane University, graduating cum laude with a double major in Psychology and Cell & Molecular Biology. He earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate, completed his anesthesiology residency at SUNY Downstate,
and went on to a fellowship in pain medicine at the University of Maryland.

Before opening his private practice, Dr. Chabla served as an Assistant Professor
of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Columbia University, following four years
as a faculty clinician at NYU. That combination of elite research exposure and real-world clinical volume is what drives his approach to care.

Our Approach

Heal, Don't Just Manage

We use minimally invasive therapies — including PRP injections, nerve injections, trigger point injectins, botox injections ketamine infusions, ultrasound-guided treatment, and extracorporeal shockwave therapy — to address pain at its source. Our goal is always to restore function and reduce dependence on medications.

Precision Over Protocol

No two patients are the same. Whether you're a professional athlete with a nagging tendon injury or someone managing years of neuropathic pain, your treatment plan is built around your unique biology, goals, and lifestyle — not a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Who We Serve

Our patients range from 18 to 80 years old.
They’re athletes pushing the limits of what their bodies can do.
They’re weekend warriors dealing with overuse injuries.
They’re professionals managing chronic or neuropathic pain that’s affecting their quality of life. What they have in common: they want more than a prescription.
