What to Bring to Your First Visit

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Your first visit is a comprehensive consultation. Dr. Chabla will review your history, discuss your symptoms and goals, examine the affected area, and review any prior imaging. He will then walk you through your options and, where appropriate, develop a treatment plan at the same appointment. Plan for approximately 60–90 minutes for your first visit.

Preparing for Common Procedures

Before a PRP Injection

Avoid NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin) for at least 14 days prior. Stay well hydrated in the 24 hours before your appointment. Eat a light meal before your visit. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows access to the treatment area.

Before a Ketamine Infusion

Do not eat or drink for at least 8 hours prior to your infusion. Arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home — you may not drive after a ketamine infusion. Avoid alcohol and recreational substances for 24 hours prior. Bring a list of all current medications.

Before Pain Injection Therapies

No special preparation is typically required. Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the treatment site. Let us know if you are on blood thinners or have a pacemaker.

After Your Procedure

Mild soreness or swelling at the treatment site is normal and typically resolves within 48–72 hours. Avoid strenuous activity for 24–48 hours unless instructed otherwise. Follow any specific aftercare instructions provided by Dr. Chabla at your appointment. Contact us if you experience severe pain, fever, redness, or swelling at the injection site.
